Hackathon Duration: November 3, 2025 – January 31, 2026

 

1️⃣ Overview

Malim Hackathon 2025 invites innovators, developers, designers, educators, and dreamers to reimagine learning, creativity, and AI integration through technology and design.

This is an independent, community-driven hackathon, small in prize, but big in purpose. The winner will receive RM1,000 and an opportunity to be invited as a co-founder of Malim.my.

Suggested Focus Areas:

  1. AI-driven learning and development tools
  2. Personal growth and personality-based education/library
  3. Open-source educational apps or OS (based on ChromiumOS)
  4. Creative tech ideas that empower communities or learners

Submission Requirements

To qualify for judging, your submission must include:

 

1. Project Title & Description: A concise summary of your idea, problem statement, and target users.

 2. Prototype / Demo Link, Either:

  • A functioning web/app prototype, or
  • A Google Form / App Script demo, and
  • A video walkthrough (max 5 minutes) uploaded to YouTube/Vimeo.

 

3. Documentation: Short write-up (max 500 words) describing

  • What inspired your idea
  • How it works
  • Tech stack or tools used
  • Future potential or scalability

 Optional (but encouraged):

  • Public GitHub repo
  • Figma, Notion, or Google Slides concept deck

⚠️ Submissions must be new, created during the hackathon period. Existing projects can be entered only if significant new features were added during this event.

🎯 Winning Condition (IMPORTANT)

The winner will receive certificate in PDF and a 1000$MALIM*. However, to unlock the RM1,000 cash prize, a project must: 

✅ Rank #1 overall;
✅ Achieve a minimum total score of 80% or higher from the Founder; and
✅ Agree to the co-founder invitation

If no prototype reaches requirement above, the cash prize will be reserved and may be redirected as a development grant or community support fund for promising future projects under hackathon.malim.my.
